27/Sept/2005 - Life has been crazy but I have continued to research these families, I just have not kept up too well with what I have found. I have updated the information on the main Patterson-Ellison-Terry page, as well as the public & private books. I have added to the Ellison's in Alabama, and also spent some time researching the family members who migrated to Texas.
Also, check out the Terry and Ellison DNA projects. The links to them are below.
5/May/2005 - If you are a direct male Terry descendant (your direct male ancestors are Terry's), please consider participating in the Terry DNA Project. Terry researcher Mike Terry is one of the organizers of this project. His Terry line in SC is very close to ours, and may be related. By participating in the DNA Project, we may be able to know for sure.
8/Mar/2005 - Cousin-in-law Nelda Powell has provided information on the descendants of Janie Elizabeth Terry Powell, daughter of Fred Terry and Mary Esther Davis. She moved to Texas.

9/1/2004 - Cemetery photos added - Old Purity cemetery in Chester Co, SC.
8/28/2004 - Just a few little changes to the main page. No new data.
8/25/2004 - I have updated the web page and the book with additional information on the descendants of Job Patterson of Stewart Co, Georgia, found in a history of Stewart Co found at the GA State Archives, and additional information on the Ellisons from the "Descendants of John and Robert Ellison, Fairfield County, South Carolina, Allied Families - Adger, Patterson, Capers" by Clara Ellison Erath.

7/7/2004 - Section added for Other Researchers, who you may contact from this site.
6/22/2004 - New information on the parents of Abraham Patterson & Margaret Caldwell. Also information on Margaret Caldwell Ellison and Robert Ware and their descendants from descendant Pat Coyle. "Book" re-published. Ellison pictures added. Family page re-designed.
5/13/2004 - Terry pictures added.
10/16/2004 - Pat Coyle (descended from Margaret Ellison and Robert Ware) and I visited the Sardis Cemetery in Talbot Co, GA, earlier this month. The cemetery is well taken care of. We did discover that the cemetery transcription we had found on RootsWeb has some burials that we could not find. We think the gravestones or markers are no longer there. It was wonderful to meet Pat and talk about our research.
I took the opportunity to visit some other cemeteries in the area - the Ellerslie cemetery in Harris Co is right on the main road but is very overgrown. The Adger Ellison - Margaret Terry family plot had a good base of concrete and was in good shape. Everyone was there. :)
I stopped by the Terry Family cemetery as well. I had a little bit of a hard time as I could not decide which road off the main road to turn on. The cemetery is VERY overgrown now and needs help. I will put it on my to-do list and see what I can do to help it.
8/17/2004 - Much more information to come as I have been visiting the Georgia State Archives and am overloaded with information to sort through. Unfortunately, it looks like none of the Terry's in GA left wills. I will be searching the probate records soon. Information has been found on the descendants of Job Caldwell Patterson of Stewart Co, GA. Will update soon.
6/25/2004 - A copy of the records for aunt Eliza (Lillie) Terry have been received from Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL. Lillie was there from 1907 to 1921, with some furloughs in between. I have yet to go through the records and extract and condense the information, but they do show that her father, John D Terry may have been alcoholic, and he had an older brother who suffered from the same condition Lillie did. Makes me wonder if John's uncle Alexander Patterson may have suffered from a similar ailment.
6/22/2004 - A copy of the book "Descendants of John and Robert Ellison, Fairfield County, South Carolina, Allied Families - Adger, Patterson, Capers" by Clara Ellison Erath has been received from cousin Pat Coyle. From this book we have a little more information on Abraham & Margaret Caldwell Patterson, as well as the Ellison family. The book has lots of information on Ellison families in Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas, that will aid in tracking down some family members. I am still going through this book to incorporate the information into by database.
In addition, we have information from Mike Terry and the Terry Family Historian on Terry records from the early days of Fairfield County, SC. I have yet to analyze the information more closely, but it may get us a step closer to the parents of Stephen N Terry, d. 1807 in Fairfield.
